Hey folks,

As promised here’s the update I announced:

First: Some bad news.

Due to errors in the transaction system of my bank and lags of avaiability I wasn’t able to get my hands on the white beauty called Enzo. I’m really sorry for that harsh disappointment and today I’m here to present you the alternative.

More BHP, but no BBR model

“The alternative” also is a Ferrari, one of the most powerful ever built, in fact. For Ferrari the word “perfect” has another meaning, then for most of us. In their Italian eyes a Ferrari is only perfect if there are no substitutes.

860 BHP and 9.500RpM are numbers, that brim over with extremes and adrenaline. They don’t belong to Ferraris FXX, but to it’s succesor, the FXX Evolucione.

860 BHP seem to be overtaken by Bugattis Veyron Grand Sport with it’s stunning 1200 BHP, but for me the overall package is counting.

The Grand Sport, for example, is a car built for reaching high speeds. But what about a fast car, that’s not getting around the next corner ?! It’s rubbish!

In fact there are only a few people, that can actually drive the FXX Evolucione.

One of them is Michael Schumacher, who got one as a present. Nice surprise, huh ?

[BTW: The FXX "Evo" needs only 3 seconds to sprint from a dead stop to 60 mph.]

“Let’s get down to business!”

Now after a long story about 1:1 scale, let us shrink our horizon to 1:18 scale.

About the model:

It’s a late 2007 Ferrari Fxx Evolucione in 1:18 scale manufactured by Hot Wheels Elite.

As it’s built by Hot Wheels Elite the overall build quality and the materials used aren’t as impressive as they would’ve been if this was a BBR standard model. The good thing about it is, that the price isn’t as high as the one of respective BBR models.

I paid about 60€ for this beauty. But don’t you think, that the model is a childrens toy, just because there’s “Hot Wheels” written on the box.

You do get quite a lot for your money.

Take a look at the pictures:

Next on the list is the puristic racing interieur. The hard-as-bone seats with their realistic seat belts do fit well into the detailed cockpit.

There also is some carbon fibre look alike plastic, but that doesn’t really hurt the overall good impression of the interieur. Even the small switches and levers on the dashboard are painted precisely.

Opening one of the doors, that gets loose and doesn’t stay open long, you’ll first see the nicely made roll cage, that also adds a sense of purism to the entire thing.

One special thing about the FXX Evo is the fact, that the mirrors were all replaced by rear-facing cameras. That takes away weight and causes less irritation of the air streaming over and around the cars body at higher speeds. The screens for the camera can also be seen in the cockpit of the modelcar.

Now let’s move on to the part of the modelcar, that most of you are looking forward to most: The engine bay. It’s also following HW Elite standards, when it comes to materials used and quality of built. One thing I like:

The springs of the suspension. They’re detailed and not out of plastic, but real metal. Of course you’d get more details in a BBR Enzos engine bay, but we’re talking about HW Elite, don’t you forget.

Everything in there is painted nicely and with much detail. The engine itself isn’t so detailed, which is only a small hickup due the built quality is nice and the Ferrari signs and red stripes on the engine cover do look superb.

One thing I don’t like: The bottom of the engine bay is made out of a plate of plastic, which isn’t bad in general if it wasn’t so shiny. That makes it look a bit cheap, but that’s only a small issue I noticed reviewing this modelcar.

Let’s close the bonnet and do a step back to have a closer look at the rear of the car, which in my opinion is one of the best parts of this car.

The finish here is breathtaking Aerodynamic details and parts everywhere.

Even the enormous diffusor mounted on the bottom to generate additional downforce is built in great quality like most of the car. But see yourself:

Enough about detail. The fazit:

The Hot Wheels Elite Ferrari Evolucione convinces with loads of details on the interieur as well as on the exterieur, a nice build quality (mentioned that like 1000 times till now) and a relativelly low price. You do get a lot for that. The only thing, that interrupted the almost perfect modelcar experience for me are the raw and massive looking hinges used to lift the bonnet and the too shiny plastic plate in the engine bay.

But in an overall view this modelcar is amazing.

If you want an extreme and nice-looking 1:18 scale Ferrari, that isn’t too expencive, you should definitelly take a look at this one. You won’t regret a buy.

[For those who like Ferrari, but not the red paint, there's also a black one with white accent livery avaiable.]

Critics, advices for improvements and flaggings of mistakes are always welcome!!!

My blog 3NZ0R.com was created this week on early tuesday. Building up a blog is a very time consuming procedure and I’m, as I’m still a hard working student, not having the time to work on it 5 hours a day everyday a week.

I hope you understand my concern. I’m really doing my best to get this up and running ASAP. It might take me a bit, but I promise that this will be, nevertheless, a steady growing blog.

Soon I’ll add more modelcar presentations with full reviews of some models.

Thanks for your understanding, the admin

D’you remember planking? Here’s a Ford GT doing it.

I’m very grateful for every kind of support I can get.

I’m giving my best to entertain you.

THANKS

“Passion (from the Ancient Greek verb πάσχω (paskho) meaning to suffer)” -Wikipedia 10.1.2012

For me “passion” means something different…

…For me, passion is the willingness of risking everything for achieving perfection.

As you might have noticed due to the header, I’m very passioned about sportscars (the red ones from Italy)

But as I’m only a student I can’t afford one of those, so I decided to pick up a hobby that comes very close to that.

CLOSER as some might think:

What I’m talking about are modelcars.

Of course they’re not only toys, like we all played with in our youth, but extraordinary and sometimes a bit too expensive masterpieces.

Modelcars are no longer only made out of some die-cast and plastic.

In fact the range of material used today is outraging and still expanding.

From simple die-cast to expensive carbon fibre EVERYTHING can be found in the genre.

Some manufacturers like BBR, Kyosho or AUTOart (to just name a few) are sporting interieurs with real carpet.

Even leather seats aren’t uncommon in this new gen-modelcars.

In the future time, i’ll put a lot of effort in trying to convince critics and show them,

how breathtaking beautiful perfection can be in the scales 1:18 and 1:12.

Moreover I’ll let you have a closer look on my collection of wisely chosen models, like the ones BBR produces.

For ending this small, but fine intro, I decided to attach a picture of my favorite car and model.

On this very early Tuesday morning, the 10th Jan, 2012, my first own and self-paid blog is “born”. (sort of)

My real name isn’t 3NZ0R, as you might have figured out,…

… but as 3NZ0R I’m going to show you small pieces cut out of my life and conservated especially for no one  else, than YOU.

Let’s sit together watch cool things comin’ my way and enjoy (considered to be the most important)

I hope to catch your interest with this one. (I’ll maybe specialize on a subject, or two…)
